Heart Of the School Fund

The Heart of the School Fund is a year-round program delivering grants to Baltimore City Public School Principals for school enhancement projects.

Principals are often faced with time-sensitive opportunities that will benefit their students and school without the necessary funding to capitalize on them. The Heart of the School Fund helps principals take advantage of those opportunities, using a streamlined application process to allow funding for approved projects with minimal restrictions. Funds delivered to principal's support needs such as professional development, musical instruments, new technology, school events, trips, acquiring vital resources and more.

Guidelines:

The Heart of the School Fund is only open to Baltimore City Public Schools. Each school is eligible to receive a maximum of $7,500 over a two-year period (this can be across multiple grants). We have six grant deadlines per year:

  • July 1
  • September 1
  • November 1
  • January 3
  • March 1
  • May 1

Suggestions for Applicants:

  • Please be as specific as possible when describing your project. Be sure to let us know how many students/teachers will be served, which students/teachers will be served, and how the project will be implemented.
  • Please note the character limits for the questions. While you are not required to use all available characters, answers that are far short often fail to include important information.
  • Be clear about what the funding will be used for.
  • Include calculations in your budget.
