Heart of the School Fund

The Heart of the School Fund is a year round program delivering grants to Baltimore City Public School Principals for school enhancement projects.

Principals are often faced with time-sensitive opportunities that will benefit their students and school without the necessary funding to capitalize on them. The Heart of the School Fund helps principals take advantage of those opportunities, using a streamlined application process to allow funding for approved projects with minimal restrictions. Funds delivered to principals support needs such as professional development, musical instruments, new technology, school events, trips, acquiring vital resources and more.

Applications, accepted on a rolling basis, are reviewed by Fund for Educational Excellence staff, board members, and community volunteers.

 

The Heart of the School Fund is managed by the Fund for Educational Excellence and open to requests for funding from Baltimore City Public Schools principals. The Heart of the School Fund is funded through proceeds from the Heart of the School Awards as well as targeted donations (listed below).
